Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's new album, the new release, is out on Friday.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was previously that team's coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four games.
A family member advised me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had great success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.
However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
